ESL Program • Supported by Division • Standards of Quality: shall be provided to support 17 full-time equivalent instructional positions for each 1,000 students identified as having limited English proficiency.(approx: 1:59; we reported 188 students, therefore division obligation is 3 FTE) We have approx: 6 FTE • Supplemented by Title III • 2010-11 funds: 34,466 • 2011-12 funds: 16,563

  3. Title III Program Area Goals • Student Learning • English Progress and Proficiency (Measured by ACCESS for ELLs) • Reading and Mathematical (Measured by SOL Assessments) • Developing student academic proficiency in Science and Social Studies • Professional Development • Parent Outreach

Measurable Objectives: 2011-12Based on 2010-2011 Data AMAO 1: Progress • 65% of identified limited English proficient students will demonstrate progress in acquiring English language proficiency as demonstrated by moving form one English language proficiency level to the next, measured by ACCESS for ELLS. AMAO 2: Proficiency • 16% of identified limited English proficient students will attain proficiency and be reclassified as non-LEP as measure by ACCESS for ELLs. AMAO 3: Reading • 86% of identified LEP students who take the Reading SOL assessment will achieve a passing score as determined by the Virginia DOE. AMAO 4 : Math • 85% of identified LEP students who take mathematics SOL assessments will achieve a passing score as determined by the Virginia DOE.

Measurable Objectives: 2012-13Based on 2011-2012 Data AMAO 1: Progress • 66% of identified limited English proficient students will demonstrate progress in acquiring English language proficiency as demonstrated by moving form one English language proficiency level to the next, measured by ACCESS for ELLS. AMAO 2: Proficiency • 17% of identified limited English proficient students will attain proficiency and be reclassified as non-LEP as measure by ACCESS for ELLs. AMAO 3: Reading • 91% of identified LEP students who take the Reading SOL assessment will achieve a passing score as determined by the Virginia DOE. AMAO 4 : Math • 90% of identified LEP students who take mathematics SOL assessments will achieve a passing score as determined by the Virginia DOE.

Formerly LEP Student Monitoring Plan Guidelines • Person who will be responsible for monitoring FLEP student • Frequency guidelines for how often each student will be monitored • Information used to determine whether individual FLEP students are being successful in their educational program. • Method or criteria used to measure success of FLEP students • Criteria for determining the source of a FLEP student’s lack of success

Formerly LEP Student Monitoring Plan Guidelines • Procedures, methods, and services to be used to provide assistance to FLEP students who are not being successful • If needed, additional services to develop English skills, address academic deficiencies • Notification procedures to inform parents of service options: Thirty-day notification letters
