  3. Jomo Kenyatta • Born in 1889. Died in 1978. • He was Kenya’s first president • Was liked by his people, “one of the greatest men of 20th century”

  4. Daniel ArapMoi • Kenya’s second president. • Born september 1924 • In office from 1978- 2002. • Known as Nyayoswahili for “footsteps” • He followed after the first president Jomo Kenyatta.

MwaiKibaki • Full name Emilio MwaiKibaki • Born November 15th, 1931 in Gatuyaini Village • Is now president of Kenya (since 2002) • Member of Kikuyu people. • Attended Makerere University • Was a teacher, then became active in Kenya’s struggle for Independece from Great Britian. • Is part of K.A.N.U.

  6. Silas Yego • Silas Yego is a Bishop and head of the African Inland Church. • Father of 4 children. • Well respected.
