  1. Test Taker’s Guide to Ace the OET Reading Section: Part B OET Reading Section Part B: Multiple-Choice Questions One of the two sections of the Occupational English Test (OET) reading section is Part B: Multiple- Choice Questions. In this reading section, test takers must read two texts (600–800 words each) that are related to a general medical topic. For each reading passage, OET test takers will need to answer 8–10 multiple-choice questions in 45 minutes. Moreover, this OET reading section evaluates test takers ability in understanding longer passages of text at the level of word/phrase, explicit meaning, and implied purpose.

  2. On the day of the examination, test takers will be given a test booklet and an answer sheet for the reading task. Then, they are required to fill out the questions using a pencil and to bring an eraser as well. Test Taker’s Guide to Ace the OET Reading Part B As an OET test taker, it is essential that you look for essential test-taking strategies and other reading tips that can help boost your OET training and ace the examination. To help you reach this, read and follow this test taker’s guide to ace the OET Reading Section – Part B multiple-choice questions:  Read the question first In each multiple-choice question, you will see a paragraph number in which you will find the answer. This means that you don’t need to read the whole text. Simply read each question before checking each text.  Skim the paragraph Once you have identified the paragraph number, skim it to find the answer. Skimming the paragraph means reading it with intention. Look for key points and specific details that might help you identify the correct answer.  Eliminate options Using the process of elimination, remove choices that are obviously incorrect. If you still don’t figure out the answer, make an educated guess. Use the key points and details that you have gathered while skimming the paragraph.  Review your answers After picking your answers, make sure to use an extra time reviewing them. Check if you miss any question item. Maximize your time analyzing your answers to see if there are any changes that you need to do. So what are you waiting for?
