  1. Gravity Written by: ABDEL DAYEM AL KAHEEL www.kaheel7.com Prepared by: Ahmed Adham ahmed.adham.eg@gmail.com Dina Shawky dinashawkyeg@gmail.com

  2. Our Agenda In this presentation we will demonstrate the following points: • The aim of the presentation. • What is gravity? • Can we see gravity? • Feeling the effect of gravity. • Absence of gravity. • Gravity around earth. • Gravity and light. • Gravity and astronomy. • Gravity in the religion of Islam.

  3. What is the aim of this presentation?

  4. This presentation has an aim to spread culture of the scientific miracle in the Qur'an and Sunnah to demonstrate the Tolerance of Islam to prove that this religion is away from fanaticism and ignorance.

  5. What is Gravity?

  6. Also it is a force that causes things to fall when they are dropped. The force of gravity gives things their weight. • Gravity or gravitation is a natural phenomenon by • which objects with mass attract one another. • Every object has its own force of gravity. • Gravity depends on the amount of material that • makes up an object. The more material an object has, • the stronger is its force of gravity. The force of gravity • between two objects decreases as the objects get • farther apart.

  7. Isaac Newton • He stated that :any two objects or particles having nonzero mass, • the force of gravity tends to attract them toward each other. • Gravity operates on objects of all sizes, from subatomic particles • to clusters of galaxies. It also operates over all distances, no • matter how small or great. Was the first one to discover the law of gravity in the 17thcentury.

  8. Can we see gravity?

  9. No, we can’t see gravity but we can feel it.

  10. How can we feel the effect of gravity?

  11. When a man wants to parachute out of a plane he falls down towards the ground because of gravity. Gravity Ground

  12. Also With gravity Against gravity When we descend down we don’t feel tired But we feel tired when we ascend up Walking on earth is the natural movement

  13. What happens in case of absence of Gravity?

  14. Life on earth is impossible without Gravity A big mess is the only description of our earth in case of absence of Gravity.

  15. Is gravity the same over the surface of the Earth? No

  16. It turns out that in some places you will feel slightly heavier than others. The next map will show us in exaggerated highs and lows where the gravitational field of earth is relatively strong and weak.

  17. A low spot can be seen just off the coast of India, while a relative high occurs in the South Pacific Ocean. • The cause of these irregularities is unknown since present surface features do not appear dominant. • Scientists hypothesize that factors that are more important lay in deep underground structures and may be related to the earth's appearance in the distant past.

  18. Yes Is light affected by gravity?

  19. The speed of light is still constant. Light is affected by gravity, but not in its speed. General relativity gives two effects of gravity on light. 1 2 It can bend light (which includes effects such as gravitational lensing) by warping space so that what the light beam sees as "straight" is not straight to an outside observer. It can change the energy of light by shifting the frequency of the light (gravitational redshift) not by changing light speed.

  20. What about Gravity and astronomy?

  21. Astronomers say that all the planets have gravity that attracts the nearby bodies and the force of gravity is proportional to the mass of this planet and the distance between it and the bodies that it attracts

  22. So that, all the cosmic bodies like the sun, moon, planets, stars, and cosmic dust, etc.. all have gravitational fields.

  23. Earth's gravity keeps the moon on its path around the Earth.

  24. No Is the Gravity equal in all planets?

  25. The moon has its own gravity, but it is not as strong as that of Earth. That is why astronauts on the moon can carry equipment that would be too heavy to carry on Earth.

  26. On Earth, you might be able to jump 3 feet (almost 1 meter). On the moon, which has low gravity, you might jump 20 feet (6 meters). On Jupiter, which has high gravity, you could jump only 14 inches (35 centimeters). On Earth On Jupiter On the moon

  27. An astronaut who finds juggling fruit is easy without Earth's gravity pulling it down. Fun in space

  28. Therefore the earth has a gravity field that attracts people to it and because of this gravity the objects are settled on the surface of the earth even the atmosphere.

  29. This means that if there wasn't a gravitational field for the earth, the atmosphere would have escaped and faded away in the outer space. Hence, the gravity is the reason for the stability of life on earth.

  30. But, what does religion of Islam say about Gravity?

  31. In the holy Qur’an Allah refers to this phenomenon in clear signs as He Almighty says:

  32. (Allah, it is He Who has made for you the earth as a dwelling place and the sky as a canopy, and has given you shape and made your shapes good (looking) and has provided you with good things. That is Allah, your Lord: so blessed be Allah, the Lord of the ‘Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)). [Sûrat Ghafir, verse: 64]

  33. The explanation of the verse Almighty God talks about his graces that He bestowed upon his people. From these graces that He be exalted made the earth settled for its inhabitants and made the sky as a canopy. He also created mankind in the best shape and He provided them with good things.

  34. The point of inimitability Through Gods saying: (Allah, it is He Who has made for you the earth as a dwelling place), we notice that God be He exalted told us about the grace of settling the earth and settling the objects on its surface. And the word (dwelling) refers to the stability of creatures on the earth which is an indication to the gravity and that is what scientists have discovered.

  35. Allah Almighty Says: (And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty.( (Sûrat Az-Zariyat- verse 20)

  36. In the Qur’an Allah talks to all mankind (Muslims and non Muslims), for Muslims to increase their faith and to fix them on Islam and for non Muslims to guide them to the straight way of Allah to lead them to heaven where is the eternity life.

  37. Thanks Allah for your Graces
