  1. TIME MANAGEMENT TIPS Realize that time management is a myth. Find out where you're wasting time. Create time management goals. Implement a time management plan.

  2. Use time management tools. • Prioritize ruthlessly. • Establish routines and stick to them as much as possible. • Get in the habit of setting time limits for tasks • Be sure your systems are organized • Don't waste time waiting.

  3. Goal Setting Ensure each of your goals follows the SMART concept: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely. Specific- Be as specific about your goal as possible. Example:My specific goal is to save $1000 in 2 months.

  4. Measurable - Establish concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of each goal you set. Example: I’ll measure my progress by saving $125 each week. Attainable -When you identify goals that are most important to you, you begin to figure out ways you can make them come true. Example: I’ll set-up automatic transfers of $125 each week from my checking to my savings account.

  5. Realistic -To be realistic, a goal must represent an objective toward which you are both willing and able to work. Example: Realistically, I tend to spend money if it’s in my checking account. Setting up the auto-transfer will keep me from touching my money. Timely – A goal should be grounded within a time frame. Example: I’ll achieve my goal of saving $1000 in 2 months.

  6. "To fail to plan is to plan to fail." —Benjamin Franklin A SMART goal explains a behavior using the following components: Specific: A SMART goal identifies a specific action or event that will take place. Measurable:The description of a SMART and the outcome should be quantifiable. Achievable:A SMART goal should be attainable given available resources. Realistic: A SMART goal should require you to stretch some beyond your normal routine and regular abilities, but allow for likely success. Timely:A SMART goal should state the time period in which it will be accomplished.
