  2. Brief Background on SMART Metering What is a SMART Meter? Is a device which will provide an accurate meter reading from an Electricity, Gas or Water supply, eliminating estimated bills and manage consumption efficiently Are SMART meters becoming mandatory? Yes this was introduced in April 6th 2009 further information on the following pages A SMART meter puts your business in control of your usage of utilities for budgetary purposes and cut wastage and reduce your organisation’s carbon footprint. Why Install a SMART Meter? What are my options? A breakdown of products and services will be highlighted in this presentation.

  3. SMART Metering legislation • SMART Metering Legislation for Businesses in the UK (Introduced: April 6th, 2009) • How will this legislation affect your business? • Electricity • All existing NHH (non half hourly) electricity meters (profile classes 5-8) will need to have SMART Metering installed by 6th April 2014. • Any new NHH meter installations (profile classes 5-8) that occur after 6th April 2009 will need to be a SMART Meter. • As from 6th April 2014, electricity suppliers will not be able to supply electricity to any relevant premises other than through a SMART Meter. • Gas • Any gas meter using between 732 MWh (732,000 kWh) and 58,600 MWh (58,600,000 kWh) per annum will need to have SMART Metering installed by 6th April 2014. • Any new gas meter installations that occur after 6th April 2009 and that fit the consumption criteria above will need to be a SMART Meter. • As from 6th April 2014, gas suppliers will not be able to supply gas to any relevant premises other than through a SMART Meter.

  4. About our partnership with Vision Energy Monitoring Vision Energy Monitoring is an independent provider of HH, NHH, Gas and Water consumption monitoring systems. Vision Energy monitoring are also the UK’s main distributer for the “Meter-Mimic pulse-less multi utility logging device. All the consumption data is available by logging onto the web based software “The Vision Dashboard” and can be viewed for monitoring purposes. Eco Elite which currently offers a range of energy efficient solutions have teamed up with Vision Energy Monitoring to provide a simple to operate web based on-line SMART Metering package bespoke to your company’s requirements. This package also adds value to our existing energy procurement service with ease of use consumption monitoring for budgetary and carbon reduction practices.

  5. Electricity Monitoring • Half Hourly Metering • We can arrange competitive Half Hourly Meter operations contracts on a both lease and capital basis. • For HH DC/DA (Data Collection and Data Aggregation) we take a different approach which is unique in the market place. • Contract • We can manage a 5 year DC/DA contract on behalf of our clients, and organise for the supplier to remove all settlement charges from the monthly HH electricity invoice. The benefits for taking up this service are: • Net savings of settlement and data access charges over most of the supplier’s offers. • An Interrupted data flow irrespective of supplier changes and the loading of the previous 12 months data for comparison

  6. Electricity Monitoring (Cont’d) • Half Hourly Metering • Nomination • We can nominate a DC/DA on your behalf managing the entire process from producing the nomination letters to getting the data online. There are 2 main benefits with this service: • The entire process is contactless. • The DC/DA will invoice the supplier direct for the service, so you will see no change in your billing. • NHH (Non Half Hourly Metering) • We are also able to look at replacing your existing meter portfolio with SMART metering devices. We have contracts in place to facilitate this.

  7. Electricity Monitoring (Cont’d) • The Meter Mimic option for electricity • The alternative solution for both HH & NHH AMR is deploying the “Meter Mimic” logging device to obtain consumption data from the existing meter infrastructure. • The Meter Mimic approach gives many benefits including: • No Meter exchanges are required so no interruption to power. • Consumption data is unaffected by change of supplier etc • GAS and WATER Monitoring • The “Meter Mimic” unit can also be used to monitor Gas and Water consumption in the same way as Electricity and offers the same benefits.

  8. Sub Metering Options • SUB-Metering • We can also supply and deploy multi utility sub metering devices. The information can be displayed via the enhanced Vision dashboard if there are no issues with local conditions such as poor mobile reception, firewall issues etc. All projects are managed in detail by your designated project manager.

  9. On-line Consumption Dashboard • Day + 1 energy performance reporting at site, is delivered via our internet service, the Dashboard • The Benefits of using the Dashboard include: • Simple and easy to use • Web based tool which can be accessed by any web enabled computer. • Easy to manage and visualise KPI’s • Easy to manage targets either consumption or carbon foot-printing

  11. Dashboard Features Press Back to Dashboard Comparison Charts The Dashboard can provide year on year comparison reports including comparison of energy used v unit price or performance before and after installation of monitoring equipment or other technologies.

  12. Dashboard Features Press Back to Dashboard Carbon Footprint Analysis Carbon footprinting is a standard feature on the dashboard, which will give you an up to date carbon footprint report and your EPC rating.

  13. Dashboard Features Press Back to Dashboard Cusum Analysis This is available as a standard feature of the Dashboard. This reporting tool enables our clients to compare 2 periods on one report and to view multi utility analysis.

  14. Dashboard Features Press Back to Dashboard Multi-utility reporting The dashboard includes multi utility reporting capability which can show daily, weekly, monthly and annual consumption cost or as a year to date figure.

  15. Dashboard Features Press Back to Dashboard League Tables League tables are also a standard feature of the dashboard, showing a sites performance ranked by the preferred criteria.

  16. Dashboard Features Press Back to Dashboard Comparison to target Financial performance to targets are available on the front page either for all sites or by drill down into individual sites.
