  2. SOFIA Area – 1 311 sq.km. Population – 1 300 000 inhabitants Length of the public transport network – 1 589 km Number of public transport vehicles – 839 Number of public transport lines – 117 surface lines and 2 metro lines Public transport services (2013) – 60 mil vehicle km Number of public transport trips for 2013 – 483 mil.

  3. Short–term parking zones in the city centre and Park & Ride

  4. Short–term paid parking zones “BLUE ZONE“ - 5 000 parking spaces Maximum duration of time for parking – up to 2 hours. Price - 2 BGN per hour. Mon-Fr: 08.00 - 19.00 h. Sat: 08.00 - 14.00 h. “GREEN ZONE“ - 11 600 parking spaces Maximum duration of time for parking – up to 4 hours. Price - 1 BGN per hour. Mon-Fr: 08.00 - 19.00 h. Goals: - Reducing the traffic - Improvement of the parking organisation 2 765 116 vehicles passed through the “Blue zone” for the period 01.09.2014 – 13.09.2014 (85 % of the vehicles used the main roads within the “Blue zone”)

Payment for the short-term parking zones • With ticket purchased: • by ticket inspector; • in SUMC ticket offices and kiosks; • in stores. • SMS to number 1302 for Blue Zone; • SMS to number 1303 for Green Zone; • Parking pay stations; • With vignette sticker – for residents within the paid parking zones; • With preferential pass – for people with disabilities. Electric vehicles can park in short-term parking zones for free.

  13. Metro Line 1 - 20,2 km with 16 stations Line 2 - 10,8 km with 11 stations In April 2015 two new sections with a total length of 10 km and 7 stations will be put in operation, including the connection to Sofia Airport.

  14. Renewal of the public transport fleet Implementation of activities for improvement of air quality by purchase and delivery of: - 20 low-floor trams - 126 low-floor CNG buses - 10 new metro trains Sofia Integrated Urban Transport Project: - Delivery of 50 articulated low-floor trolleybuses

  15. Electric bus – pilot project

  16. The bus uses ultra capacitor – charging faster than usual batteries. The charging takes about 7 minutes, which is enough for a 30 km run. Max.speed - 80 km/h. Capacity - 90 passengers (32 seats). The bus operates on trolleybus line 11. Charging at the final stops on the route.

  19. Real-time information for passengers More than 700 electronic information boards at public transport stops • type of vehicle (bus, trolleybus or tram) and line number; • actual time of arrival at the stop; • current time; • final stop of the line.
