  1. Responsibilities As Members of Local Church

  2. First Century Church Example • Early church at Jerusalem shows pattern • Acts 2:42 • Acts 4:32-33 • Acts 5:11-14 • Acts 5:42 • Though differing in ability, all had responsibility to fulfill continuously (Rom. 12:4-13) • Analogy of congregation to body makes plain the point (1 Cor. 12:12-27) • All were present & active on a regular basis

  3. Note Continuing Nature of Responsibilities to One Another • Some of the “one another” duties in N.T. • Rom. 12:9-11 Love & prefer honor of brethren • Rom. 14:19 Make for peace & edify brethren • Gal. 5:14-16 Love, not bite & devour brethren • Eph. 4:1-3 Forbear brethren & keep unity • Eph. 5:15-21 Subject self to brethren in all ways • 2 Thess. 1:2f Grow in love even in persecutions • Heb. 10:22f Exhort to faith, love & good works • 1 Pet. 5:1-5 All are to serve one another • How can we meet these duties if we decide to frequently forsake, vacation or go elsewhere?
