  1. Biology Cell Structure and Function. Of a plant Cell

  2. Nucleus The Nucleus Is the largest part of the plant cell. The nucleus holds the genetic information for the plant cell. The nucleus is made up of 3 main parts… The Nuclear envelope (is a double membrane that creates the shape of the nucleus), Chromosomes and the nucleolus. Chromosomes: Hold the genetic material. Without the chromosomes the cell would not be able to pass on characteristics to any daughter cells. The chromosomes are in pairs that and are duplicated in mitosis to produce daughter cells. Without the chromosomes no genetic material would be passed on, therefore no daughter cells could be produced. Nucleolus www.emc.maricopa.edu/.../BIOBK/BioBookCELL2.html

  3. The Endoplasmic Reticulum The Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) is a network of membranes. Its made up of many tubes. The main functions of the ER are. -It anchors lots of enzymes -chemical reactions take place on the surface of it. -Its used as a transport system for the cell -it creates certain compounds such as Lipids With out the ER the cell would have trouble functioning properly. It works as a great way for things to move around the cell. It moves chemicals from one part if the cell to another. Without it chemicals would build up in places and stop flow through the cell. The ER can carry chemicals outside the cell as well as to the nucleus.

  4. Golgi Body's The Golgi bodies Collect small molecules and combined them to make larger and more complex molecules. The can then choose to store them or send them around the cell. With out the golgi bodies The cell would not be able to gain stronger more capable cells. Because they make the molecules more complex. This would make the cell weaker and less healthy. Ribosome's. Without ribosome's the cell would no have any protein for transporting thing around and outside of the cell. Ribosome's can be found on the rough exterior of the ER or just floating in cytoplasm. The Ribosome's function Is to produce enough protein for the cell to survive.

  5. Lysosome’s Without the lysomome’s the cell cannot break down any food. The lysosome carries enzymes that are released to break down nurturance for the cell. They are scattered through the cytoplasm their function is to digest the food for the cell. Mitochondria Withouth the Mitochondria nutrience would be usless to the cell. The mitchondria converts the energy from food into a form the cell can use. The Role of the miitchondria is to keep the enegry of the cell up by taking energy from food into a form the cell can benefit from.

  6. Centriole Along with the Flagella The Centriole moves the cell. It moves the cell by beating. Cytoplasm Without the Cytoplasm the cell would not be able to stay together. Its prevents the cell from dehydrating and Most chemical reactions take place in the cytoplasm. The cytoplasm iis a vital part of the cells survival. The rest of the of the organalls would not be able to function, due to the fact that no water or hydration is held in the cell.

  7. Cells are like little communities. Each part has its own role and job to complete. They work tofether with each other. For example, no organalles can be held in the cell with out the membrane or wall. The mambrane protects the cell by only lettingin healthy things for the cell. Endoplasmic reticulum and golgi bodies woork off each other. The ER provides the golgi bodies with a place to live and the golgi bodies travel through the cell via the ER. The goldi bodies also keep the cell healthy by producing protiens. Nucleus si the brain of the cell. Controlls the whole cell. Lymosomes are found in the cytoplasm, break down the food by releasing enzymes. They work with the Mitchocondra, turning the broken down food into energy the cell can use anad benefit from. So each part has a vital function for the smooth running of the cell. Jessica Thompson 12OBR
