Acomplishments • Oprah Stared in a movie called “The Color Purple” • After the movie she was nominated for Academy and Golden Globe awards. • In 1987, the Oprah Winfrey show won the first of many Emmy Awards. • Her Face has been on over 29 magazines. • Between 1995 and 1996, she earned a total gross income of $171 million. • 2004, she gave $5 million to Morehouse College to fund college scholarships. • Winfrey opened a school in South Africa, The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls South Africa, in 2007.

Interesting Facts • She is the highest paid entertainer in the world • Learned how to read at two and half years old • At nine she was raped by a cousin and it didn’t stop for years after that. • Didn’t go to kindergarten, then went from 1st grade to 3rd. • Became very un behaved and her mother sent her to live with her father( who was REALLY strict) • When she was a junior in college she was already making an annual salary of 15,000 dollars a year!!!!
