Test at SX5 • Last week the ZDC was taken out via a forklift. • Tunnel access closes at 5pm on the 21st • Before the crane can be installed it must be tested on a platform at SX5 • This platform was finished today so Paul can now put the crane together • There is still a lot to do and Paul is not sure that he can have a test by 18th or so.

  3. Sarcos • The feet of the sarcophagi were designed for hand transpallets but forklift had wider feet. The feet are being modified. • Sarco 3 is at SX5. The inner mold used to support the slot when the concrete is poured is too difficult to remove. We are modifying this to make it easier to take out • Sarco 4 coming

  4. Documentation • Most of the required documents exist at least in outline form but we need some input from Paul on the lifting mechanism and the rotating carrage • Paul also needs to send all the FEA calculations to CERN engineers to review • Finally we can check our radiation calculations against measurements of the ZDC activation. This work is ongoing.
