  3. Youtube Channel • Videos can be a powerful tool to use in preparing students for laboratory activities. • Often your learning management system provides you with the ability to easily upload videos to YouTube.

Why do you want to aYoutube channel? • Branding – create a unique identity that ‘positions’ your message • Tracking– use built-in analytics to measure the audience engagement • Organization – use your Channel as a “Digital Asset Management System” (DAM) • simplify organization • Tagging (Keywords) • Update Video Assets • Everything in one place – don’t make your students search all over YouTube for your Videos

  5. How to set up your ownYouTube channel • Create a Google Account – this will give you access to a BUNCH of Google Applications, including YouTube • Login to YouTube with your Google Account • Explore

  7. Login to your Google account—go to www.youtube.com – your profile pic is in upper right Click your Profile Pic to get this drop-down menu.

Create a channel with a business or other name • Make sure you're signed in to YouTube. • Go to All my channels. • If you want to make a YouTube channel for a Google+ page that you manage, you can choose it here.   11. Configure Your Channel • Give it a Custom URL • e.g. “www.youtube.com/WICHEMENTALHEALTH • Set it up for long videos • Add some custom Channel Art

  12. Set up Custom URL– Main Menu Click your Profile Picture to get the main menu

  14. Click Advanced

By default videos are limited to 15 minutes; to upload longer videos: • Visit the upload page at www.youtube.com/my_videos_upload • Click Increase your limit at the bottom of the page, or visit https://www.youtube.com/verify • Follow the steps to verify your account with a mobile phone. Currently YouTube does not offer other ways to verify your account.

  19. Channel Art • Give your channel a custom look and feel by selecting channel art. Channel art can be used to brand your channel’s identity and give your channel page a unique look and feel. Your channel art will be used on all platforms where viewers can see your channel (TV, mobile, tablets, etc.) YouTube > Help > Channels > Information for Brands & Advertisers

YouTube One Channel • “One Channel” is YouTube’s new channel Layout • There is no longer a background image • Create a custom Channel Banner or header • This is called “Channel Art” • Download Free template, custom channel art needs to be able to scale to fit multiple browser sizes • Dimensions are 2560 x 1440 (pixels)
