  3. Beatitude #1 Revelation 1:3 - Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

  4. Beatitude #1Read, Hear and Keep • It is not enough to just read and hear – this is a mere intellectual acknowledgement of God’s words and instructions • We must also keep those things written • Luke 11:27,28 • James 1:22-25 • We must determine to persevere and continue to remain faithful • Ephesians 6:13 • Revelation 2:10

  5. Beatitude #2 Revelation 14:13 - Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me; “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”

  6. Beatitude #2Dying in the Lord • Fact: We all must die • Hebrews 9:27 • But, how can death be considered a blessing? • It is if we “die in the Lord” • Psalm 116:15 • We will have “rest from our labors, and our works will follow” • 2 Timothy 4:6-8 • Colossians 3:23-25

  7. Beatitude #3 Revelation 16:15 – “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”

  8. Beatitude #3Jesus is the Judge • Jesus is coming to judge • Romans 14:9-11 • 2 Corinthians 5:10 • Where is the blessing? • It is the results of watching and keeping • Luke 21:36 • 2 Timothy 1:13 • Hebrews 10:23

  9. Beatitude #4 Revelation 19:9 - Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”

  10. Beatitude #4The Marriage Supper of the Lamb • The Parable of the Wedding Feast • Matthew 22:1-14 • Lessons to learn • Consider the invitation as the most important element and consider it a privilege to receive an invitation • We must conduct ourselves as honorable members of Christ’s church • Understand that if we don’t, the invitation will be taken away

  11. Beatitude #5 Revelation 20:6 - Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

  12. Beatitude #5Escape from the Second Death • Faithful Christians will not face the second death • What is the second death? • Revelation 20:12-15 • How can we be assured of safety? • 1 Peter 2:9 • 2 Timothy 2:12 • Romans 6:1-6

  13. Beatitude #6 Revelation 22:7 - “Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”

  14. Beatitude #6Keep the Word • Revelation 21 provides us a glimpse of what heaven must be like. • Who will be those who enter and receive its blessings? • Luke 11:27,28 • Ecclesiastes 12:13

  15. Beatitude #7 Revelation 22:7 - Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

  16. Beatitude #7Final Reward • Brother W. W. Otey coined the phrase: “Genesis 3 is the tree of life lost; Revelation 22 is tree of life regained! • There will never be a higher, better destination for us to seek than that of heaven. God created man and the Garden of Eden for him. That didn’t work out to well. Now, he has prepared a new dwelling place for us with Him in His home. • John 14:1-6

  17. Seven Beatitudes of Revelation • Revelation 22:16,17 - “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
