  2. What isCID? The U.S. Army's primary criminal investigative organization and the DoD's premier investigative organization. CID is responsible for conducting criminal investigations in which the Army is, or may be, a party of interest. The CID Headquarters is in Quantico, Virginia,with more than 2,500 Special Agents. The command is organized into five subordinateorganizations: 3rd Military Police Group(CID)6th Military Police Group(CID) 701st Military Police Group(CID) U.S. Army Crime RecordsCenter Defense Forensic ScienceCenter/U.S. Army Criminal InvestigationLaboratory

CID SpecialAgents “Having what it takes to be become a CID Special Agent is more than just learning how to investigate crime, it’s having the physical, emotional, and mental stamina to reach thetruth.” • CID Special Agents are responsible for conducting investigations and for enforcing military and federal statutes. • CID Special Agents investigate various felony-level crimes including • homicide • sexual assault • cyber crime • white-collar crime • drug- traffickingetc….. • On a daily basis, CID Special Agents collaborate with their international law enforcement counterparts, as well as federal, state, and local authorities. Being a CID Special Agent means being on the leading edge of the U.S. Army’s law enforcement careerspecialty.

CID SpecialAgents • GS-1811 Organizations • Office of Inspector General (ED-OIG) • Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) • Customs and Border Protection (CBP) • Federal Protective Service (FPS) • Immigration and Customs Enforcement / Homeland Security Investigations (ICE/HSI) • Office of Inspector General (DHS-OIG) • Transportation Security Administration (TSA) • United States Secret Service (USSS) • Bureau of Indian Affairs Police (BIA) • Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) • Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) • United States Marshals Service (USMS) CID Special Agents are GS-1811. CID agents enforce title 18 of the general criminal code. CID special agents not only investigate statutes within the United States Code and state and local laws with a nexus to their branch, but are also tasked with enforcing the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). All CID special agents enjoy statutory law enforcement authority.

CID SPECIAL AGENT DIRECT ACCESSION • RECRUITING PROGRAM • Minimum Skilled Technical score of 107 and minimum General Technical score of 110 • Speak and write clearly to express questions, conduct interviews, and present information when testifying • Ability to deploy worldwide, have no physical limitations and normal color vision • No history of mental or emotional disorders • Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record • Favorable credit history • No felony • Suitable character

  7. Agenttraining Special Agents receive advanced training in specialized investigative disciplines throughout their careers. Select agents are eligible to receive advanced trainingat the FBI National Academy, the Canadian Police College, Scotland Yard, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and the Defense Acquisition University. Select agents can also be accepted into the masters degree program in Forensic Science from George Mason University, which runs concurrent with afellowship from the Armed Forces Medical ExaminerSystem. Applicants selected for the CID pilot program will Attend OSUT (One Station Unit Training) where they will complete BCT and Military Police AIT. After they will attend thedemanding 15-week investigationcourse at the U.S. Army Military Police School at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Military agents spend their firstyearas apprentice agents and must agree to a service obligation upon completion of the CID Special Agent Course. Agents are not fully accredited until successfully completing theapprenticeship. .
