  3. This Canyon was formed because of water and rock carving out the rock that is now the canyon. The Black Canyon of the Gunnison is unique because of the narrow openings and sheer walls. Black Canyon of the Gunnison

  4. Katmai National Park & Preserve • Established in 1918 • Purpose of establishment was to protect the area covered by ash from the Novarupta Volcano • Been National Park since 1980
