  1. All About Gas Leakage

  2. Gas Leakage Gas leakage will result from defective rubber tubing (one connecting the outlet of the LPG cylinder to our burner), poor fitting of the regulator, and improper handling of gas appliances.

  3. Injuries related to gas inhalation • When inhaled, it can displace blood, rob the lungs of oxygen and induce suffocating hypoxia. • Gas can also affect the brain and nervous system, causing euphoria (happy feeling), walking or speaking trouble and dizziness.

  4. Injuries related to gas inhalation • Continued exposure can induce mood swings, insomnia and memory impairment. This can also affect the heart by abnormal heartbeat and elevated blood pressure. It can mitigate blood cells and also damage lungs.

  5. Injuries due to gas explosion • LPG Cylinder explosion can lead to severe burns, causing multiple injuries and death. Blast shock waves may affect a person 's gastrointestinal tract 's ears, lungs, and hollow organs near the blast site. • The explosion may also cause injury from pieces and other air-powered objects.

  6. Injuries due to gas explosion • This also causes air movement that can throw people , particularly young children, on solid objects and cause injuries including bone fractures. • Some individuals may experience post-traumatic stress disorder due to emotional trauma, although not injured.

  7. Precautionary Measures • Store gas cylinders away from sunshine and flame. • Avoid skin-and-eye contact. • Secure containers and valves against injury. • LP gas cylinders must be kept upright. Pressure relief valve should be in cylinder vapor space.

  8. Precautionary Measures • Get the tubing from the company that supplies you the gas cylinder once a year. They have specialized tools to identify leakage. • Replace regular tubes.

  9. Precautionary Measures • If you suspect a gas leak in your house remove all flames and match sticks. • Do not switch on the electrical appliances if you suspect a gas leak. • Immediately open the window and disperse heat in your room.
