  2. Introduction • This book is about the geography of Mexico • Most of the country is too dry to from but some parts are rich on oils or minerals • Mexico physical features have helped determine where people live

  3. Chapter 1 Physical geography of Mexico • Mexico is part of Latin America, The United States sits on Mexico Northern Border • Mexico is a large country, about 3 times the size of Texas and its broken into six different regions

  4. Central/Baja Plateu • It is the largest desert {Chihuahua Desert} in North America • The Trans-Mexican Belt had spit out more then 10 Billions of lava when it was active • The Sororan Desert covers most of Baja

  5. Pacific Lowlands • Farther south, the lowlands have a tropical climate with more precipitation • The Gulf of Mexico stretches south from Texas to the Isthmus of Tehauntepec • The North side of peninsula is covered with dry sand and brush

  6. Southern Highlands • The Southern Highlands are south of central Plateau and Areas along the coast receive ample rain • The you sum octant was once a trade route from Maya

  9. Costal Areas of Full of Tourists • Fishing and Tourism support many costal cities, and cruise ships arrive in port daily • The main industries of the Yucatan Peninsula used to be farming and fishing

  10. The Isolated South • A main highway now passes through the Southern Highlands remain thinly populated • Quit a few people there still speak make language , a main highway passes through the capital

Chapter 3 “Mexico’s Resource's and Economy” • The geography has an big impact on a country's economy • The United States is Mexico's largest business partner • Guadalajara plants make electricity and plastic and a center of industry as well • They have street vendors that sell everything from food to clothing to handcrafted goods

  12. Natural Resources and Tourism • Mexico has one of the largest oil reserves in the world • Natural wonder and Mexican volcanoes feed businesses

  13. Farming • Relativity few people earn a living farming in Mexico and only about 13% of Mexico's land is curable • The Chiapas region is the poorest in the region and life there is often difficult

  14. Conclusion • Mexico is a land of great contrast • The neighboring U.S buys most of Mexico • Mexico is a land of economic contrasts the nation is rich in natural resources
