  1. Want a Thriving Business? Focus on Sustainability in Retail! Sustainability in retail had been in the niche criteria until recently. In the past couple of years, we have witnessed organisations paying heavy focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and work out ways to decrease their environmental impact. Major companies are trying hard to cut down their carbon footprint by going completely solar and other means of renewable energy sources. More and more businesses are taking a stand when it comes to environmentalism. Climate change, excessive waste, unethical work practices used to salient earlier. However, consumers now want businesses to invest in sustainable retailing. Brands now need to prove that they’re making efforts to be more sustainable. They are undergoing sustainability training to find new ways to lower their carbon footprint with their operations. Here are some ideas that’d help achieve better sustainability: 1. Cutting down carbon with everyday practices: There are several activities through which you can lower your carbon footprint. You can start by choosing energy-efficient lighting equipment and appliances. Switching the basic incandescent bulb to a LED can make a significant difference. Ensuring that you are purchasing an AC that has a better ENERGY STAR rating can help you be more energy efficient. Cutting down on paper usage and choosing to go the digital path can also help you reduce your footprint. Disposing of your waste properly while reusing items that can be reused whenever possible are somethings that’d help the environment.

  2. 2. Sustainable packaging alternatives: Regardless of the size of your business, packaging will likely be a necessary expense. However, following the conventional packaging materials can harm the environment adversely. Plastic pollution has been degrading ecosystems and wildlife severely in the past decade. Your business can follow an eco-friendly packaging method can offer sustainability while being environmentally conscious. Sustainable packaging not only lowers your impact on the environment but also helps your brand stand out amongst your competitors. 3. Make it a part of your brand: Sustainability training can help you come up with ways that can make the brand become one with sustainability. One of the ways incorporates knowing how your customers communicate with your brand. You will have to publicise your sustainable developments and gain your consumer’s support by letting them know what are you doing for the environment. Make use of content marketing where your brand can speak with the audience that helps you showcase your sustainability efforts. You can also co-market with other sustainable brands, blogs, social media, email marketing, etc., to keep your customers stay updated with your efforts to save the environment. Conclusion: The best part of a sustainable business is you become a part of the solution. In this day and age, sustainability is a powerful value proposition for increasingly conscious consumers. If you’re brand seeking ways to be sustainable, consider undergoing a sustainability training course with LBTC. Give us a call for more details.
