  10. Let’s get started with scheduling! • Please print your name NEATLY in the space provided • Provide a good contact number where we can reach you over the summer if we have questions about your schedule • Parent signature is required • Teacher signatures are also required for core classes

CASHS Graduation Requirements • Students must earn a TOTAL of 23 credits to graduate from CASHS • 4.0 English Credits • 4.0 Math Credits • 3.5 History Credits • 3.0 Science Credits • 1.5 Health/Physical Education Credits • 0.5 Information Communication Technology Credits • 6.5 Elective Credits • Students must also demonstrate proficiency in the 3 Keystone Subjects: • Algebra, Biology, & Literature

  12. English • Two choices for English next year: • English 9 • Honors English 9 • Passing your English class will result in earning 1.0 credit toward the 4.0 credits required for graduation

  13. History • Choices for next year • Early American History • Honors Early American History • AP United States History • Passing your History class will result in earning 1.0 credit toward the 3.5 credits required for graduation

  14. Math • Choices for next year • Algebra 1 (most students will sign up for this)—this is a double period math class and will result in earning 2.0 credits • Algebra 2 or Honors Algebra 2 (take if you are currently in Algebra 1) • Geometry or Honors Geometry (take if you are currently in Algebra 2) • Passing your Math class will result in earning 2.0 credits (Algebra 1) or 1.0 credit (Algebra 2 or Geometry) toward the 4.0 credits required for graduation

  15. Science • Choices for next year • Physical Science • Biology • Honors Biology • Passing your Science class will result in earning 1.0 credit toward the 3.0 credits required for graduation

  16. Fitness/Wellness • 9th graders will choose 1 of the following P.E. Courses: • Team Sports OR Lifelong Fitness • Students will need to purchase and change into a P.E. Uniform for this class—Available in the CASHS School Store • Passing your physical education class will earn you a 0.5 credit toward the 1.5 credits required for graduation

  17. Music • If you select Glee Club as one of your electives, you will Audition with Mrs. Stahl to determine your vocal range • Students who select to be in Band or Symphony—these classes meet before/after the school day and credit will be IN ADDITION to your 6-7 credits within your school day.

  18. Study hall • Please select if you would like a full year study hall, half year study hall, or no study hall next year.

  19. Electives • These are only requests. We cannot guarantee you will get into all of these courses. Upper classmen get priority in scheduling electives. Don’t worry; your time will come!  • Electives are listed by department. • It is much more difficult to change your schedule after school starts, so choose wisely now! • You must select your top 6 electives. Number them using 1, 2, 3, etc., instead of just checking them.

  20. Course selection form • DO NOT LOSE THIS FORM!!!!!!!!!! If you do, please see your English teacher to get another one. • If you have questions about course selections, please talk to your current school counselor Mrs. Miller (South) or Mr. Overcash (North) • Take this form home & discuss your course requests with your parents. Remember to get signatures from parents & teachers. • Turn this form in to your English teacher no later than Friday, February 16th!
