  1. World Leaders in Recruitment London The Consumerizationof Technology Brandon Metcalf | Founder & COO Talent Rover

  2. Personal Background • Kelly Services Market Manager • Founded 1946 • 8,100 employees • $5.6B USD total sales 2013 • CVPartners Senior Director of Technology • Founded 2001 • 306 employees • $40M USD total sales 2013 • Talent Rover Founder & COO • Founded in 2011 • Cloud based software for the staffing & recruitment industry

  3. Evolution of Recruitment Technology

  4. What’s Driving This? • Hardware is getting smaller & smaller. • Software is getting faster & more intuitive. • Developers develop faster. • Wifi and cellular gives us access anywhere, any time. • The technology is now affordable to purchase. • Users are demanding it.

  5. Consumerization • Simplicity • Technology should be easy to navigate & understand. • There’s an app for that! • Today’s consumers are accustomed to the ease of downloading an app and having it running in minutes • Apps are self-explanatory and do not require manuals or long lists of instructions • Information Age  Immediate Information Age • Services like Google provide us with the information we want, when we want, where we want • With a network connection and a “smart” device we are able to stay connected and complete tasks on the go

  6. Challenges from the Boom • Our current systems don’t support the technology – no mobile, no social, etc. • We add on more & more apps to leverage the technology, but they are not connected leading to repetitive data entry. • We have inefficient processes & workarounds. • Associates going around the system and creating their own because they are frustrated. • Loss of controls & security.

  7. Why is this so complex for us? • How do we get all this software to work together? • Do we do complex integrations? • Who is going to manage these complex systems? • How do I keep up with the latest offerings? • Is all of this more of a distraction than an aid to business? • Why is it my personal devices can be so much easier than my business software?

  8. What I Would Look For • Simplicity & Design • Built specifically for external staffing & recruiting - no longer forced to use software designed for internal recruitment • Workflows designed for how the staffing & recruiting industry works • Page layouts with only fields that are needed • Minimal clicks • Cloud Based • Capability to process data around the world • Safe, secure, reliable connections and datacenters • Scalable • Single Global Platform • Sales, Recruitment, Back Office, Reporting, Analytics, Social, and Mobile
