Economic and Social Impact • £77.6m: Total economic contribution to the North East • 2003 full time equivalent (FTE) jobs supported •  £4.06 return on investment for every £1 public money •  3.6m attendances at cultural events in the 22 venues • 16.4m additional visitor spend in NewcastleGateshead • 60% goods procured from North East suppliers

Economic and Social Impact • Over 2000 creative and cultural professionals supported through talent development and business support • 912,045 learning and participation engagements (two thirds were children) and worked with 1026 schools • £5.9m additional funding raised for projects beyond core programmes • 845 volunteers gave over 31, 751 hours of time
