  3. Describe a Marine Ecosystem 1.Most of the ocean is dark at night with temperatures from just above freezing to temperatures hotter than humans could stand. 2.Marine regions are very salty. There is usually about 1 cup of salt per gallon off water in the ocean. 3.Over 1 million species of plants and animals inhabit the ocean.
