DFW Project Objectives • Immediate material needs (completed) • Warm jackets for winter • Blankets and comforters • Toys for children • Self-sufficiency • Mobility (driving licenses, automobiles) • Employment (resumes, interview skills, jobs) • Familiarity with American institutions, facilities • Cultural preservation • Maintain religious & cultural traditions while learning the best of American culture • Transmit knowledge of and pride in their religious values to children • Transmit knowledge of Nepali language to children • Document and preserve their unique history http://www.sewausa.org

Sewa DFW Accomplishments • First volunteer group to contact Bhutanese • 350 blankets/comforters distributed • 10+ clothing items per family • Toys distributed during holidays (2008 and 2009) • Driving lessons for 20 individuals • Funds collection • Successful partnering with local organizations: • Sanatana Dharma Foundation • Ekta Mandir • NTHM, HSS, etc. • And more… http://www.sewausa.org
