Online Norms • Turn off email, phones, & instant messaging devices and clear other distractions from your meeting area. • Raise your hand if you have an immediate question or comment. • Be patient waiting for a response to your chat messages. • If you leave the meeting, use the bird emoticon or write a message in chat to let us know when you leave/return (and be sure to click EXIT).

  7. Helpful Hints for you in avirtual meeting environment • Post a sign that you are in a meeting -- indicate when the meeting will be over • Ignore people around you who are signaling for attention • Use a headset instead of speakers
