Vision Mission EnvironmentalInfluences Core Processes Organizational Performance Cycle Annual Performance Assessment Long-Range Goals Annual Targets Mission Statement Amission statement answers the question: "What is our fundamental purpose?“ Collaboratively, the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC), the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center (NIH CC), National Library of Medicine(NLM),and the Suburban Hospital Healthcare System (SHHS) will create and sustain the Bethesda Hospitals’ Emergency Preparedness Partnership (BHEPP). The Partnership will leverage its complementary resources to respond to local, regional, and national emergencies in the National Capital Region and to conduct research about emergency preparedness and response. The Partnership’s regional health care emergency readiness collaboration will serve as an exportable model nationally and internationally.

The Bethesda Hospitals’ Emergency Preparedness Partnership (BHEPP) will be regarded as a critical resource in the National Capital Region emergency response network. The Partnership's model of collaborative readiness will be considered ”first-in-class” and will be a national asset. As a laboratory for scientific inquiry, the Partnership will make substantive contributions to the study of health care emergency preparedness.

Disaster Preparedness, Response, and Recovery Communications Consultation and Education Research Disaster Preparedness Disaster Preparedness, Response and Recovery Share resources to provide patient care, training, surge response, transportation, equipment, and resources, as necessary, to support an effective disaster response. Research Provide research opportunities for internal and external researchers to improve emergency disaster preparedness response knowledge. Consultation and Education Provide for the exportation of a regional emergency readiness management model.

Collaborate with local, regional, and national organizations in responding to emergencies in the National Capital Region to provide the highest quality and most efficient healthcare emergency services to the largest number of emergency patients in the shortest period of time. • Identify and implement strategies to guarantee/assure long term sustainability of the Partnership. • Create a prototype emergency preparedness response modelapplicable to communities throughout the nation and internationally through research, partnering, education and collaboration.
