FINDINGS—IT’S A SENSITIVE ISSUE!!! • Experience of sorting/ discarding very stressful • Understanding what it means to be stigmatized and labeled as a “hoarder” • Often co-occurring with other mental health disorders • Feelings of embarrassment, sadness, discomfort, isolation, shame, and being overwhelmed

  4. TIP OF THE ICEBERG? • Reports of 1-2% of the population with significant hoarding • Help for families or neighbors • How do we help those with other needs such as dumpsters, movers, alternate living arrangements, and financial limitations
