  5. What’s new • E-Learning project • To develop and deliver an e-learning training package for practice nurses and registered Aboriginal Health Workers aimed at supporting appropriate uptake of Medicare Item 10997

  6. Training Package • Six two-hour disease specific modules: • Cancer, arthritis, cardiovascular health, asthma, diabetes, and dementia • One four-hour generic module: • Unit one = lifestyle counselling • Unit two = chronic disease self management • Unit three = care planning, cultural sensitivity, info on Medicare item 10997, practice systems

  7. Timeline • May – June 2008 = undertake audit • July – Sept 2008 = develop content • Oct – Nov 2008 = conduct pilot • Dec – Jan 2009 = refine content • Feb – June 2009 = national rollout
