  2. Annie Johnson! • Annie Johnson was a women from Arkansas in late 1903 in Arkansas most women were domestics at that time. • Annie was a mother, a wife , and not very intelligent.

  3. “I looked up the road I was going and back the way I come , and since I wasn’t satisfied, I decided to step off the road and cut me a new path.” • This quote tells us that Annie was confident and knew she could make it she just needed to well, start all over.

  4. Character Traits.

  5. My description of Annie. • I think that Annie is courageous, I think that Annie is courageous because she told her husband she wanted a divorced . • Annie is also very brave in my opinion because she was I single black mother in the 1900’s. Which was probably really hard back then because it is still hard nowadays. • Last but not least I believe Annie is determined. I believe she is determined because when she first started selling meat pies she went back and forth to the lumber mill then to the cotton gin.

  6. Conflicts. • Well first of all Annie was a BLACK WOMAN now that's hard enough then she decided to get divorced, with two kids. • At first Annie was on the wrong path then she decided to start over.

  7. All in all • Annie got divorced this affected Annie in many ways first of all she is now a single parent so she had to provide for her family all alone so she went from being a housewife to a successful business owner.
