  3. Once inside the hall… Enter the room and… COME ON UP!

  4. Now the fun begins! Room A A- … Award Winners Follow the first letter of your last name? Room B L-… AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS…LOOK FOR WHICH SIDE YOUR ALPHA IS ON AND HEAD TO THE ASSIGNED GOWN ROOM

  5. Gown Rooms STATION 1: PICK UP YOUR CARD- The way you see the card is the way your name will be read aloud- please change if desired. STATION 2: PICK UP YOUR GOWN STATION 3: PICK UP YOUR CAP AND COLLARETTE STATION 4: LINE UP IN YOUR ALPHA & NUMERICAL ORDER STATION 3 STATION 4 STATION 2 ENTER STATION 1

  6. Processional • Platform party and school staff will proceed when the music begins • Grads will be marshalled down the stairs and move through the centre of the chairs • File into seats moving all the way along each row • You must fill every seat and remain in your numerical order • If you have won a ‘Special Award’, you will be marshalled as a group, to a section to the left of the hall

  7. The Order of Events • You will find a program for the evening on your chairs • Platform party will be introduced and speeches will be made • Special Award Winners will be called first • Graduates will be called in alphabetical order • Follow the plan on the map to the stage and back to your seat

  8. Graduation Ceremony • Teacher Marshalls will again direct you to the right side of the hall where, in numerical order, you will line up. • As you approach the stage your card will be collected and your name will be called as you reach the shaker • Please stay in order and proceed to the left side of the hall where you again will be directed by a Teacher Marshall back to your seat

  9. IMPORTANT NOTES • YOU ARE REQUIRED TO STAY IN YOUR SEAT UNTIL THE END OF THE CEREMONY AND ONCE THE PLATFORM PARTY LEAVES THE STAGE • REFRESHMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE LOBBY FOLLOWING THE CEREMONY • YOUR GOWNS AND COLLARETTES MUST BE RETURNED TO THE APPROPRIATE GOWN ROOM BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE BUILDING

  10. Photography • A photographer will be at the ceremony to take each of your pictures as you cross the stage and receive your diploma • You will receive a copy of this picture (FREE OF CHARGE) when you pick up your diplomas at the school in early July. • Please let family members know that we request that they do not move toward the stage to take pictures

  11. Arrival Time 5:30pm

  12. Remember… ONLY 2 GUESTS PER GRADUATE

  13. SPECIAL NOTES FOR THE EVENING • PLEASE NO VALUABLES, BAGS AND/OR PURSES • PLEASE DO NOT LOSE OR FOLD YOUR CARDS –THE INFORMATION ON THE CARD IS WHAT IS READ OUT IN THE CEREMONY!!!

  14. This is a FORMAL occasion… • Respect the formal and ceremonial tone of the evening • No shouting, booing, or excessive cheering • Do not throw caps until asked to do so

  15. Diploma Procession

  16. Valedictorian Voting Will take place in Grade 12 classes on Thursday June 13th. This year’s valedictorian will be announced on Friday June 14th.

  18. Locker Clean Out--June 14, period 5 • All lockers MUST be empty by the end of the day. • Grade 12 students will be given a notice in homeroom (students without a period 1 homeroom should pick up their notice in the attendance office) • Graduating students: • Remove lock from locker. • Turn lock into the attendance office OPEN with the completed notice attached by 3 pm on June 14th. • Students will be charged for any lock not returned. Diplomas, report cards, etc. will not be distributed to any students owing school materials. • Returning students: • Empty locker and attach the lock (locked) as shown. • Return notice to the attendance office with the word RETURNING written on it.
