  1. Navigating in My Collaboration Space The purpose of this job aid is to define collaboration space , identify collaboration tools, and explore possibilities of each tool to increase productivity and empower performance with minimal external support.

Collaboration Space Tools Specific to the School for Family and MWR Learning Management System, also known as the LMS or IMCOM Academy Website: • Collaboration is a process where two or more people work together or as group toward a shared goal through discussion, learning, or building consensus • Space is a place in the website specific to a group or course to upload, store, search, or post themed information Collaboration + Space = Collaboration Space is a place in the LMS where learners collectively work together as a team to share knowledge, experience learning, and build consensus . What is a Collaboration Space?

Collaboration Space Tools Before we move on, here’s a list of tools in a Collaboration Space available to learners: • Search • Announcements • Documents • Blog • FAQs • Directory • Calendar Tools are accessible and available to learners as long as the course is listed on individual’s transcript. On the next slide we will explore steps on how to select and access a collaboration space .

Collaboration Space Tools Let’s go over how to select a collaboration space: Using a mouse “Hover” over Collaboration Space Tab from the Toolbar Banner Click “Collaboration Space” from the pick list A new window will open Type course name in the “Search” Text box, Click SEARCH button to go to the next window Note: Course name is required in the search box Go to Transcript and get the course name or Contact course instructor or send email to imcom.academy@us.army.mil or Call School for Family and MWR at (210) 466-1050 Don’t know course name?

Search Icon - performs search within the space Announcements Icon – Post important events Document Icon – For uploading document Blog Icon – To post individual ideas, comments or details about a topic in chronological order FAQs Icon – Search frequently asked questions within the space Directory Icon – Lists of individuals assigned to the space Detailed instructions for when to use each tool will be given by course manager. Calendar Icon – Place to create and schedule events

  7. Quick Tips for Collaboration Space Tools Tool: Documents How to upload new document? Apply naming schema in “Title” box Give detail description in “Description” box Type key words for the document in “Keywords” box Click “Create” button on the bottom of the screen Click “Check In” from the “Summary Column” to make it available to all Congratulations!!! You are done. Tool: Documents – Cont’ • Click icon from the tool menu bar • For new documents, click “GO” button to create a new space to upload a document. Check with course instructor for “Document Naming Schema” • New window will open to create new document label
