  1. NAV-IS Nav-IS Combined Maritime Speed Log & Meteorological System

  2. Nav-IS Combined Maritime Speed Log & Meteorological System AMI Marine UK sells and fully supports our speed logs and meteorological systems both individually and also in conjunction with SMIDS (Ships Movement Information Display System). The Nav-IS (Navigation Information System) is a cost effective combined system supplied to commercial maritime standards. Nav-IS exceeds the requirements of EN60945 & EN61023 and is compliant with IMO resolutions A.478 and A.824.

  3. Nav-IS Main Electronics Unit (MEU) • Combined Speed Log & Meteorological Functions. • Modular construction to save cost. • Provides power to log & meteorological sensors. • Single or Dual Axis EM Speed Measurement. • Auto wind sensor selection (most windward). • Relative and True wind vector outputs. • User selectable wind damping. • Interfaces with Nav-IS Control & Display Unit. • Processes and distributes navigation data. • RS422 NMEA, Simulated Potentiometer (Volts/Knot), User selectable potential free contacts (PPM).

  4. Nav-IS EM Probes Fixed Single or Dual Axis Flush Probes In-board Retractable Single or Dual Axis Flush Probes Fixed Protruding High Speed Probe Specified accuracy with protruding probes: 0 to 10 Knots: ± 0.1 knots. Above 10 knots: ±1% Specified accuracy with flush probes: 0 to 10 Knots: ± 0.2 knots. Above 10 knots: ±2%

  5. Nav-IS Meteorological Sensors Air Pressure Sensor Module Sea Temperature Sensor Air Temperature & Humidity Sensor Ultrasonic Anemometer Temperature: -5 to +45°C (+113°F) Accuracy: ±0.3°C Barometric Pressure: 500 – 1100 hPa Accuracy: 0.2hPa (25ºC) Integral to MEU with vented pipe to exterior of enclosure. Temperature: -40 to +70°C (+158°F) Accuracy: ±0.4°C Humidity: 0-100% RH Accuracy: ±4% RH Speed: 0-65m/s (0-130kts) Accuracy: ±2% Direction: 0-359.9° Accuracy: ±2°

  6. Nav-IS Control and Display Unit The optional Nav-IS Control & Display Unit provides clearly and concise display of all of the Nav-IS system functions. Can also be used to display many other ship's navigation parameters on multiple page formats, therefore alleviating the need for addition dedicated displays.

  7. Nav-IS Control and Display Unit The unit is also necessary to provide occasional control of the system including simulated LOG speed entry and one-time calibration table entry. Alternatively a windows based software package is available for use on a laptop or navigation bridge system.

  8. Nav-IS Summary • Combined Speed Log & Meteorological Functions. • Cost effective modular construction. • Single or Dual Axis EM Speed Log. • Complete range of Meteorological sensors including Wind, Air Temperature, Humidity, Air Pressure, Sea Temperature. • High accuracy. • Low maintenance (Solid-State Sensor Technology). • Versatile Control & Display Unit for clear and concise display of all of the Nav-IS system functions as well as many other ship's navigation parameters on the one compact unit.

  9. Nav-IS Summary • Built and Certified to IEC 61023 "Marine Speed and Distance measuring equipment (SDME)“, IEC 60945 "General Requirements for Marine Navigation Equipment”, IEC 62288 "Presentation of navigation-related information on shipborne navigational displays. • Compliant with IMO resolutions A.478 and A.824. • Wheelmark approval under (Marine Equipment Directive - 96/98/EC, EU/USCG Mutual Recognition Agreement Council Decision 2004/425/EC. USCG Approval Number: 165.105/EC0191/1010-01. • Established on USCG Fast Response Craft (FRC) program.
