  3. Competitive Grant Process • Average WLU PDS grant award-$95,000 • Funded by the WV Dept. of Education and Arts • Until 2011-2012, all participating WLU PDS partner schools received equal funding. • This year, a limited number of competitive grants were offered.

Project Proposal and Cost • Inquiry Project Proposal: What are the effects of implementing the Kumon math program for 20 sixth graders at Wheeling Middle School who did not achieve mastery on the 5th grade Westest II? • Cost of Project: ($5600) • $40 per participant/per month • 7 months of instruction • 20 participants
