  2. Rise Of The Ottoman Empire • Byzantine Empire faced a threat from the Ottomans. They migrated from central Asia to Asia minor. • 1453, Ottomans surrounded the capital of Constantinople. • Ottoman cannons allowed attackers to break in and capture the city of Constantinople’s • They then changed the name of the city to Istanbul & made it the ancient Christian city, the capital of their Muslims.

  3. Geography • At the northeast end of the Mediterranean sea in Southeast Europe and Southwest Asia • North of Black sea and west to Aegean Sea

  4. Social • Ottoman Empire ruled a large area that included many diverse people and religions • There are four social classes and two top classes
