Responsibilities of User Unit Leaders • To advise, guide and assist participants in participating in the Scheme. • To provide participants with Record Books and other Award literature, to arrange insurance coverage, and to obtain parental consent for participants’ entry to the Scheme. • To organize Award activities, trainings and assessments for participants and Award Leaders. • To check Record Books and apply for the Awards.

Responsibilities of User Unit Leaders • To keep close contact with SOA. • To keep and update on records of participants and Award Leaders, and to inform SOA for staff movement in the User Unit. • To give clear instructions on school leavers to continue taking part in the Scheme. • To ensure that the operation of the Scheme in User Units meets the requirements stated in the Award Handbook and that the standards of Awards are upheld all the times.

  16. Starting 5 Sections’ Activities • Participants have to inform User Unit Leader before starting any activities • Refer to AYP Handbook for the respective requirements

  19. Application for Bronze Award Collect 1) Record Book 2) Certificate 3) Pin Approval letter from SOA You can arrange Bronze Award Presentation at your school.

Application for Silver Award Approval letter from SOA Collect Record Book Notification letter from HQs to Awardees about the details of Silver Award Presentation (Once per year) will be sent in a later stage. Awardees will be presented with Certificates and Pins at the ceremony. Remarks: request for getting Silver Level certificates and pins before the Presentation could be considered and entertained in certain circumstances.

  21. Application for Gold Award • Participants who completed their Gold level activities should hand in their Record Books and log books / certificates to SOA for endorsement. • SOA will verify the applications and then submitted to AYP HQs for final approval.

  22. Application for Gold Award Notification letters from HQs to Awardees about the details of Gold Award Presentation (Once per year) will be sent in a later stage. Approval Awardees will be presented with Certificates, Pins and Record Books at the ceremony.

  23. What should I do if a participant wantto withdraw from SOA or go aboard?

  24. Withdraw from SOA or go aboard • Fill in Form AYP008 and state the reasons. (This form should be forwarded together with participants’ Record Books). • Those who are going abroad should indicate clearly the overseas residential address in the Form (If they will do the Award there). • If UU Leaders agree to continue to take care of the school leavers, there is no need for them to withdraw from SOA.

  26. Different User Units • Change to new User Unit with SOA. • Form AYP009 (no need to hand in the Record Book). • Please amend the information on Page 2 (User Unit Information) of the Record Book.

Re-issue of Certificate/Pin/Record Book • Re-issue fee is required Bronze (Pin/Certificate) HK$100 Silver (Pin/Certificate) HK$200 Gold (Pin/Certificate) HK$300 Record Book HK$35 • Candidate shouldbring along his/her Record Book, an explanation letter and re-issue fee (crossed cheque) to SOA. • All paid fee is not refundable and AYP would not guarantee the success of replacement of Gold certificates.

Insurance Plan • Group Personal Accident • Participants are insured against bodily injury caused solely and directly by violent accidental external and visible means, or in case of death or disablement, the cause of which whilst engaging in any Award activities, including Service, Expeditions, Skills, Physical Recreation and Residential Project.

  33. Insurance • Target: AYP Members • Age limit: 12 to 26 year olds (1) Death - HK$40,000 (2) Permanent Total / Partial Disablement - HK$40,000 (not applicable to handicapped AYP members) (3) Medical expenses HK$2,000.00 N.B. Aggregate limit of indemnity : HK$10,000,000 in any one accident.

Claim for Insurance Compensation • Contact SOA Office • Fill in the insurance claim form • Copy of pages 1 and 2 in the Record Book (for participants) • Copy of Identity Card • Medical Certificate • Receipts for Medical Expenses • Copy of Identity Card of the Beneficiary (for death case only)
