Introduction PHYTOTHERAPIE: thérapie millénaire dans le Maghreb (Algérie), la médecine traditionnelle = système de soins parfaitement inséré dans l’environnement socio-culturel de ces pays : - faible coût des soins - la croyance (ce qui est naturel ne peut être que bénéfique) - existence de maladies graves ( le cancer, et autre pathologies chroniques ….) La méconnaissance des plantes explique la survenue des accidents: - utilisation abusive (dose, qualité, infusion, décoction, cataplasme…) - confusion avec une autre plante, parfois plus toxique Les données du Centre Anti-Poison ne sont pas exhaustives: étude rétrospective sur 13 années (de 1991 au 06 /04) portant sur 28 221 appels dont 114 ingestions à visée thérapeutique (11,2%), et 17 appels pour information sur la toxicité des plantes.
