  2. Who We ARe • A group of college students, at the core, brainstorming for the best methods of marketing to other students. • We’re focused on marketing with an emphasis on improving our skillset. • We’re determined to better understand what marketing is and how we can use it to our advantage.

What is Web Marketing? • Web marketing is the general term for marketing done on the Internet. • Internet marketing, also known as digital marketing, web marketing, online marketing, search marketing or e-marketing, is the marketing (generally promotion) of products or services over the Internet. • The umbrella term of web marketing covers a comprehensive range of business activities such as generating sales leads, selling products or services and supporting other business through affiliate marketing.

Goals, Purposes&Metrics • Pushing programs at the College of Communication and Information • Creation of website: http://fsuitgetsbetter.wordpress.com/ • QR Code, graphics and logos and other web elements used to attract more traffic • Word of Mouth • FSU IT T-shirts • Being available and in the right place at the right time

  6. Applied Principles • Students see search as an unbiased source of information. Nielsen calls it "Google Gullibility", and his research shows that even the most educated people suffer it. In layman's terms, if it's on Google, then people trust it; and the top search results get the click, most of the time. • The 6 key Principles of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini • Robert B. Cialdini is Regents’ Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Marketing at Arizona State University. • He is best known for his popular book on persuasion and marketing, Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion. Influence has sold over 2 million copies and has been translated into twenty-six languages. It has been listed on the New York Times Business Best Seller List. Fortune Magazine lists Influence in their "75 Smartest Business Books.”

Web Marketing Advantages • Internet marketing is inexpensive when examining the ratio of cost to the reach of the target audience. • Companies can reach a wide audience for a small fraction of traditional advertising budgets. • The nature of the medium allows consumers to research and to purchase products and services conveniently

What we Accomplished • Development and Implementation • The group spent a lot of time on mostly the development of the website. • We felt that a lot of the work we were doing was preliminary and meant to be a stepping stone for future teams. • Our main goal was to initialize change, be strategic and plant seed. • Created a Website. • QR Code • Graphics • Other Elements • Target: • College aged students like ourselves in hopes of providing them with information that they needed at their fingertips.

The Future Transition • A truthful assessment of our overall success is not altogether possible given that we spent more time on development than we did on marketing. • However, data we did actually compile can be directly correlated and connected advertising through the Goldstein Library within the Shores building. • In the future, with web marketing, it is important to understand that search and social media should exist as fully-integrated aspects of any online presence. • We learned that for today's college student, search is the avenue of choice to learn about any organization or product.
