  6. Today’s Combines • Cut in field by machine • Hauled out by auger wagon • Then taken by 18 wheeler to dryers to be stored and sold.

  7. Todays combines can cost 350,000 brand new. • Cut up to 120 acres a day

  8. Feeding rice to combine • Header now a days cuts then the feeder house feeds stalk to combine

  9. Shooting straw and waste out of combine.

  10. Rice out of auger from combine. • Bagging to be shipped.

  11. Hand cut rice being hauled to combine • People hand cut instead of machine

  12. Early 1900’s combine • Stationary • Needed pre-cut rice • Didn’t have header to cut like todays • Much slower maybe 20 acres a day depending on help
