  1. 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens What do you think Sean Covey looks like? Take a minute and write your answer down.

  2. Now, watch this video… • What is your initial reaction? • How do you feel about this book right now? • Now get into groups three or four.

  3. Read the poem. • What’s the answer? • What is a habit in your own words? • As a group, make a list of as many habits as you can think of right now. • Now, I want you to cut out each one.

  4. Positive vs. Negative • Looking at your lists, tape your habits into the correct category on the board.

  5. Perception… • Most of the time we think of habits as being a negative thing; however, they can be positive. • We just need to change our perception of how we think about habits and what they are.

  6. Think of your habits… • On your paper, take two minutes and write about your best habit. • Now, count the words. Write the number under your paragraph. • Now, for another two minutes, write about your worst habit. • Now, count the words. Write the number under your paragraph. • Next, write about a habit you would like to improve this year. • Count the words. • Did you improve in your writing fluency?
