Per Oklahoma Statute, students must enroll in their resident school, which is determined by the student’s residence, unless a legal transfer is approved to another school. • Student transfer requests are reviewed and considered on a first-come, first-served basis. • Students may not be accepted or denied based on ethnicity, national origin, gender, income level, disabling condition, proficiency in the English language, measure of achievement aptitude, or athletic ability. • Parent/Guardian is responsible for student transportation to and from the school. • Transportation may be available for some in-district transfers to specialty schools or academies Laws/Policy

  4. Emergency Transfers Any student attending school on an emergency transfer this year must submit an open transfer application prior to the end of semester 2 (used to be April 1st – now extended to June 1).  This open transfer will begin for the 2014-2015 year.

OpenTransfers • Application REQUIRED • Application is Approved or Denied by the OKCPS Board of Education. • Any student attending school on an emergency transfer this year must submit an open transfer application prior to the end of semester 2 (used to be April 1st – now extended).  This open transfer will begin for the 2014-2015 year. • A student shall be allowed to transfer to a school district in which a parent or legal guardian of the student is employed as a teacher, as defined by 70 O.S. 1-116, upon approval of the receiving district only. • Transportation is responsibility of family. • An Open Transfer is valid for succeeding years as long as enrollment is maintained.
