  3. 2019 Teacher Survey Data Administered in Tennessee since 2011 Open to all educators Completely confidential Is voluntary Takes 20 minutes to complete Provides opportunities for grants for participants TN Findings 58% of Tennessee teachers and administrators participated Teachers spend 2.5 – 3 hours of weekly individual planning Teachers spend a substantial time creating and sourcing materials Seven in ten first year teachers report having a mentor CMCSS Findings To receive results 45% of teachers needed to participate 56% of CMCSS teachers and administrators participated The survey is emailed from the state to all teachers and administrators The district provides weekly reminders of the opportunity to participate 27 schools received individual survey data Responses mirror Tennessee State results

  4. 2019 Teacher Survey Data CMCSS Findings: Strong Points 90% feel safe at their school 90% feel prepared to respond to any emergency that may occur 91% agree school leadership is visible and available 90% feel teachers hold high expectations for students 100% feel the opportunity to observe coach/peer model lessons beneficial 90% have received PD on implementing the more rigorous curriculum 90% utilize data to make instructional decisions CMCSS Findings: Challenges 41% feel students do not treat adults in the building with respect 38% feel student discipline and behavior concerns are handled effectively 67% did not feel their educator preparation program prepared them for today’s classrooms 63% of HS teachers feel prepared to advise students on post secondary opportunities

  5. Tennessee ESSA Plan (TN Ready) Score for Achievement – District and School score for Proficiency. Score TVAAS Composite – District and School score for TVAAS/Growth. Score for Chronically Absent – District and School score based on the percent of students who are enrolled 50% of the academic year and exceed 10% of their enrollment in absences. Score for Grad Rate – District and School score based on the number of students in the cohort who earn a regular education diploma in 4 years and 1 summer. Score for Ready Grad – District and School score based on the number of on-time graduates who meet at least one Ready Graduate criteria. ACT composite = or > 21, or meet EPSO criteria Score for ELPA – District and School English Language Proficiency Assessment score based on the percent of students meeting the growth standard on the EL ACCESS assessment. Subgroup Average - Average score across the categories. Estimated Determination - This estimated determination scale. 3.1 and higher = Exemplary; 2.1 to 3.0 = Advancing; 1.1 to 2.0 = Satisfactory; 0 to 1.0 = Marginal
