School Profile Report - Overview • KRS 158.6453 (SB1, 2017) requires the review and revision of standards in the areas of visual and performing arts, health and physical education (practical living), career studies and world languages every six years. • The same legislation created the School Profile Report (SPR). School Profile Report – Collection Items For each content area, the SPR asks for data on the following • Course offerings • Percentage of the school’s budget allotted • Professional learning opportunities for educators (in hours) • The amount of instructional time (in minutes) • Access to school space Specific collection items and guidance on reporting data can be found on the School Report Card Resources webpage. Baseline Long Term Goals The baseline for 2019, long-term goals for 2030, and measurements of interim progress toward meeting the long term goals include: • Academic Achievement • Four-year and Five-year Graduation Rates • Progress in Achieving English Language Proficiency Long term goals will be reported in the School Report Card; does not impact accountability rating or federal classifications.   46. Feedback Sought on Draft Assessment Blueprints • The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is seeking feedback on draft assessment blueprints for reading and writing, mathematics and social studies. This is the second opportunity for public review and comment on the assessment blueprints. • Senate Bill 1 (2017) calls for KDE to implement a process for reviewing all academic standards and aligned assessments with one or two content areas to be reviewed each year, and every six years after that on a rotating basis. • Beginning August 6 and continuing through September 5, people may review the draft blueprints and share feedback and suggestions for use in the review process for the new assessments. • Feedback and comments will be thoughtfully considered and any needed revisions made before bringing forward a final set of proposed blueprints for further comment and eventual approval by the Kentucky Board of Education. • Interested individuals can view the assessment blueprints and provide feedback by clicking reading and writing, mathematics and social studies. Due to the amount of text within the survey, it is recommended that surveys be completed on a full-size computer or laptop. OSAA:DAAS:DAC Webcast: 08082019

Assessment Review Process (Amended after Senate Bill 175) Commissioner takes to Interim Joint Committee on Education (IJCE) Committees formed: Review Committee (RC) and Advisory Panel (AP) Commissioner provides report to Standards/Assessment Process Review Committee (SAPRC) SAPRC determines if process is sufficient/deficient RC reviews final proposal; sends to Commissioner Public Comments sought on standards (by third party) Kentucky Board of Education (KBE) approves proposed changes AP considers comments and finalizes proposed revisions AP considers comments and proposes/recommend changes New assessments implemented in all schools no later than second academic year following the process Public Comments sought on recommended revisions (by third party) RC reviews AP’s recommendations and makes decisions on moving forward
