  1. How to Choose the Right Edgebanding Choosing the right edgebanding is a difficult process. From different brands like Doellken edgebanding to other factors, there’s a lot going into the decision. There are so many different types of edgebanding - both brands like Doelken and compositions like veneer - and each type has its own strengths and weaknesses. The first thing you need to do is figure out what your needs are and then choose an edgebanding that will allow you to meet those needs. Edgebanding is a composite material that is used to cover the visible edges of plywood, particleboard and solid wood products. It is available in many different sizes, thicknesses, colors and textures from brands like Doelken. Edgebanding is used for several reasons: To cover an unfinished edge or seam on plywood or particleboard. Plywood panels are often manufactured with a rough edge on one side that must be covered before installation. Edgebanding like the kind Doelken manufactures is also used to cover seams between panels when building furniture from wood.

  2. To hide knots in solid hard woods. Knots are often cut out of the face of an expensive board to make it look better, but they still show up at the edges where they were cut out. Edgebanding like that provided by Doelkin can hide them from view by covering them with its own pattern instead of leaving an unattractive gap between the face of the board and its edge. To create a decorative border around a board. For example, Doelken edgebanding can add flair to plain plywood cabinets while bull-nosed edgebanding can add interest to any type of cabinet door or drawer front. The most important thing to consider when choosing your edgebanding is whether or not the material will be exposed to moisture, water or any other liquids. If it will be exposed, then you should choose a waterproof or water-resistant type of Doelken or other reliable brand edgebanding such as vinyl or PVC. These materials are resistant to moisture and can be used on countertops, cabinets, backsplashes and floors. If your project does not require waterproofness or water resistance but still needs protection against moisture, then there are several options for you as well in Doellken and other brands.. These include aluminum oxide or aluminum oxide with polyester backing options that are very effective in preventing scratches on granite countertops, marble countertops and other types of stone. If you need something more decorative than simply protection against scratches then there are also many options available here too! You can choose from many different finishes including chrome, brushed stainless steel, brushed nickel and brushed bronze among others.
