Grant Deadlines • 2/15/2014-deadline to turn in EMPG & SHSP project applications for FY 2013 grants • 15 days following each quarter - deadline for quarterly EMPG report (covers any open EMPG grant) • Jan, Feb, Mar: due April 15th • Apr, May, Jun: due July 15th • Jul, Aug, Sep: due Oct 15th • 5/14/2014 - FY 2013 EMPG end of project period • 2/28/2015- FY 2013 SHSP end of project period

  10. Grant De-Obligations • Recommendations to the GOHSEP Director for new grant allocations • Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) • Regional Parish OHSEP Directors Subcommitee • State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) • First Responders Subcommitee

FY 2014 Grant Update • SHSP & UASI both receive a slight bump-up (about $120M for SHSP & $100M for UASI) • EMPG was level-funded at $350M • Pre Disaster Mitigation (PDM) is funded at $25M • Port and Transit both also see slight bumps from $97.5M to $100M each • EMI got a slight bump from $17.8M to $20M • Continuing Training Grants got a slight bump from $27M to $29M

FY 2014 Grant Update • Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Allocation to Parishes • Regional Parish OHSEP Directors Subcommittee will review/recommend • No formula change intended • $20,000 base amount/remaining on population • State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) Allocation to Parishes • First Responder Subcommittee will review/recommend • No formula change intended • $20,000 base amount/remaining on population

FY 2014 Grant Update • 2014 Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) • Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) • FOA released March 7, 2014 • Deadline for application submission: 30 days • Project Period October 1, 2013 - September 30, 2015 (24 months total) • Homeland Security Grant Program (HMGP) Programs (SHSP/UASI/OPSG) • FOA released March 18, 2014 • Deadline for application submission: June 6, 2014 • Project Period unknown (24 months total)

Grant Monitoring • Two Sections of Grant Monitors • Sub Recipient Monitoring Section • Desk Reviews of Subgrantee Single Audit • Site Visits (more formalized) • Not all subgrantees visited • Homeland Security Grant Section • Quarterly Reports • Reimbursement Requests • Site Visits (more informal, there to assist subgrantee in all areas) • All subgrantees visited annually
