Block By Block Revitalization Underutilized properties in established but challenged neighborhoods present a significant opportunity for developers Despite economic downturn there is an increased appetite from capital markets for infill projects Built block by block by small to medium-sized developers, infill developments are the catalyst for revitalization and improving the lifestyle of residents

Jobs Follow People The idea that people will go where the jobs are is obsolete Jobs follow people: Create a place and lifestyle that nurtures talent and jobs will follow Technology makes this possible Low-density sprawl is ill fitted to a creative, post-industrial economy Density creates a climate of innovation and progress

  4. The Comeback Kid • The Greater Phoenix area was listed as one of 8 urban areas defined as • ‘comeback kids’ in a recent Urban Land Institute study. Criteria included: • Attract talented workers and new investment • Offer a variety of housing options • Capitalize on natural resources as amenities

  5. The Movement: Fostering an Urban Lifestyle • Integrate education, economic prosperity, recreation and a celebration of Arizona • Retain the region’s young, culturally diverse and well-educated population • Develop an environment friendly to early adopters, innovators and entrepreneurs

  6. Answering the Call • A multi-city urban redevelopment and investment initiative • A stronger, more connected regional urban identity • Intercity partnership and dedicated Board of private and public sector leaders • Entrepreneurial approach to obstacles

  7. The Discovery Triangle The Discovery Triangle connects the area between downtown Phoenix in the west, Tempe and the ASU Tempe campus in the southeast, and Papago Park in the northeast. This 25-square-mile urban core boasts more economic opportunities and amenity-rich, quality-of-life enhancers than any other region in the Southwest.
