  1. Understanding The Fabrication Process Of Granite

  2. About Granite Granite is a natural stone that is quarried from its ore in the form of huge rocks which then undergo extensive processing to reach your home in the form of neatly cut stone slabs. These stone slabs find widespread use in the construction industry as floorings, kitchen and bathroom worktops, splashbacks, etc.

  3. Fabrication of granite stones stages • Dressing : This basically involves giving the large granite rocks a rough shape and     cleaning its appearance by the use of dressing picks and large hammers. • Slicing : Here comes the use of heavy machinery that slices the large chunks of     granite into smaller slabs so as to make further processing and     transportation easier. • Polishing : The third stage involves grinding of the surface to make it smoother,     buffing the surface to give it a glossy look and make it less porous. At     this stage granite suppliers can choose to give the granite any finish     they want like river washed, sandblasted, leathered, polished etc. .

  4. Templating :  The next stage includes templating the kitchens or bathrooms of the client     so that the granite slabs are cut according to the required measurements     and crafted into distinct shapes requested by the customer. • Edge Trimming: Here the granite worktops are given a suitable edge profile which is often customised by the customers themselves. Some popular edge profiles are bull nose, chamfer, ogee and mitred edge. Hotels and restaurants usually prefer Victorian or Bevel edges because of their enhanced aesthetic looks.
