Zoomlion Heavy announceed $4.87 billion offer for equipment manufacturer Terex Corp. 4. Dalian Wanda made a $3.5 billion bid for Hollywood studio Legendary Entertainment (China is Buying Foreign Firms at a Record Rate)

  5. Chinese trade By bringing down their currency China thinks to gain a huge advantage in global trade; which makes their exports cheaper and more attractive to foreign buyers • China's competitor's are likely to follow in same pursuit

  6. Analysis Some analysts say that instead of defending the yuan at huge cost, the central bank should accelerate reforms to liberalize the currency • Some experts argue they are allowing market forces to have greater control of the Yuan Do you think China is creating a currency war with its trade partners? What kind of effects will the Chinese firms purchasing companies worldwide have? Positive/Negative?
