READ: ISAIAH 5:1-2 1 Now let me sing to my Well-beloved A song of my Beloved regarding His vineyard: My Well-beloved has a vineyard On a very fruitful hill. 2 He dug it up and cleared out its stones, And planted it with the choicest vine. He built a tower in its midst, And also made a winepress in it; So He expected it to bring forth good grapes, But it brought forth wild grapes.

READ: MATTHEW 3:17 17 Suddenly a voice came from heaven, Saying, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. NKJV READ: MATTHEW 17:5 5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. And suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, Saying, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him! NKJV

Their grapes are grapes of gall, Their clusters are bitter. 33 Their wine is the poison of serpents And the cruel venom of cobras. NKJV READ: SONG OF SOLOMON 8:11-12 11 Solomon had a vineyard at Baal Hamon. He leased the vineyard to keepers. Everyone was to bring for its fruit a thousand silver coins. 12 My own vineyard is before me. You, O Solomon, may have a thousand And those who tend its fruit two hundred. NKJV

NKJV READ: JEREMIAH 12:10 10 Many rulers have destroyed My vineyard, They have trodden My portion underfoot. They have made My pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. NKJV

  9. WHAT DID HE EXPECT FROM HIS VINEYARD? READ: MATTHEW 21:33-40 33 Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower. He leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country. 34 When vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit. 35 The vinedressers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another. 36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first. And they did likewise to them. 37 Then last of all he sent his son to them, Saying, They will respect my son. 38 But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance. 39 They took him, cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers? (MARK 12:1-11 LUKE 20:9-19)

And every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. NKJV

READ: MATTHEW 21:40-43 40 When the owner of the vineyard comeswhat will he do to those vinedressers? 41 They said to HimHe will destroy those wicked men miserably and lease his vineyard to other vinedresserswho will render to him the fruits in their seasons. 42 Jesus said to themHave you never read in the Scriptures: The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This was the LORD‘S doing and it is marvelous in our eyes? 43 Therefore I say to youthe kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. NKJV

READ: 2 CHRONICLES 36:15-16 (2 KINGS 25:1-21 JEREMIAH 52:4-30) 15 The LORD God of their fathers sent warnings to them by His messengers. Rising up early and sending them. Because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place. 16 But they mocked the messengers of Goddespised His words and scoffed at His prophets. Until the wrath of the LORD arose against His peopleUntil there was no remedy. NKJV

That they have gone far from Me, Have followed idols and Have become idolaters? 6 Neither did they say: Where is the LORDWho brought us up out of the land of Egypt, Who led us through the wilderness, Through a land of deserts and pits, Through a land of drought and the shadow of death, Through a land that no one crossed and where no one dwelt? 7 I brought you into a bountiful country, To eat its fruit and its goodness. But when you entered, you defiled My land And made My heritage an abomination. NKJV

Testify against Me. 4 I brought you up from the land of Egypt. I redeemed you from the house of bondage. I sent before you Moses, Aaron and Miriam. NKJV READ: JEREMIAH 2:21 21 I had planted you a noble vine, a seed of highest quality. How then have you turned before Me into the degenerate plant of an alien vine? NKJV

I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.” WHAT WAS THE LORD’S VINEYARD? WHAT WILLTHE LORD DO WITH HIS VINEYARD? READ: 2 CHRONICLES 36:20-21 20 Those who escaped from the sword he carried away to Babylon, where they became servants to him and his sons until the rule of the kingdom of Persia, 21 To fulfill the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths. As long as she lay desolate she kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy years. NKJV

READ: PSALMS 80:12-13 12 Why have You broken down her hedges So that all who pass by the way pluck her fruit? 13 The boar out of the woods uproots it And the wild beast of the field devours it. READ: JEREMIAH 34:21-22 21 I will give Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes into the hand of their enemiesInto the hand of those who seek their life And Into the hand of the king of Babylon's army which has gone back from you. 22 Behold, I will command, says the LORD And cause them to return to this city. They will fight against it and take it and burn it with fire. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without inhabitant. NKJV

READ: LAMENTATIONS 1:15 15 The Lord has trampled underfoot all my mighty men in my midst. He has called an assembly against me to crush my young men. The Lord trampled as in a winepress the virgin daughter of Judah. NKJV

READ: HOSEA 2:12-13 12 I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, Of which she has said, These are my wages that my lovers have given me. I will make them a forest and the beasts of the field shall eat them. 13 I will punish her for the days of the Baals to which she burned incense. She decked herself with her earrings and jewelry, and went after her lovers. But Me she forgot, Says the LORD. NKJV

READ: MICAH 7:10 10 Then she who is my enemy will see And shame will cover her who said to meWhere is the LORD your God? My eyes will see her. She will be trampled down Like mud in the streets. NKJV READ: MALACHI 4:3 3 You shall trample the wicked. They shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this, Says the LORD of hosts. NKJV

READ: GENESIS 6:13 (HEBREWS 11:7 1 PETER 3:20) 13 God said to Noah: The end of all flesh has come before Me. For the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth. NKJV READ: LEVITICUS 26:32 32 I will bring the land to desolation And your enemies who dwell in it shall be astonished at it. NKJV

READ: DEUTERONOMY 28:24 24 The LORD will change the rain of your land to powder and dust. From the heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed. NKJV READ: 2 SAMUEL 23:6-7 6 The sons of rebellion shall all be as thorns thrust away Because they cannot be taken with hands. 7 The man who touches them Must be armed with iron and the shaft of a spear. And they shall be utterly burned with fire in their place. NKJV

The oil fails. NKJV READ: AMOS 8:11 11 Beholdthe days are comingsays the Lord GOD That I will send a famine on the land: Not a famine of bread Nor a thirst for water But of hearing the words of the LORD. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; For righteousness, but behold, a cry for help. 8 Woe to those who join house to house; They add field to field, Till there is no place Where they may dwell alone in the midst of the land! 9 In my hearing the LORD of hosts said, "Truly, many houses shall be desolate, Great and beautiful ones, without inhabitant. 10 For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, And a homer of seed shall yield one ephah."

He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; For righteousness, but behold, a cry for help. 8 Woe to those who join house to house; They add field to field, Til there is no place Where they may dwell alone in the midst of the land! 9 In my hearing the LORD of hosts said, “Truly, many houses shall be desolate, Great and beautiful ones, without inhabitant. 10 For ten acres of vineyardshall yield one bath, And a homer of seedshall yield one ephah.” WHAT IS THE VINEYARD OF THE LORD? WHAT DID THE LORD CALL THE MEN OF JUDAH? WHAT WAS THE LORD LOOKING FOR? WHAT DID THE LORD BEHOLD?

READ: EZEKIEL 9:9 9 He said to me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great. The land is full of bloodshed. And The city full of perversity. They say, The LORD has forsaken the land and the LORD does not see! NKJV READ: EZEKIEL 22:29-31 29 The people of the land have used oppressionsCommitted robbery and Mistreated the poor and needy. And They wrongfully oppress the stranger. NKJV

READ: JEREMIAH 22:13 13 Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness And his chambers by injustice, Who uses his neighbor's service without wages And gives him nothing for his work. NKJV READ: MICAH 2:2 2 They covet fields and take them by violence, Also houses and seize them. They oppress a man and his house, A man and his inheritance. NKJV DID THE LORD WARN THEM ABOUT THIS?

DID THE LORD WARN THEM ABOUT THIS? READ: LEVITICUS 25:13-17 13 In this Year of Jubilee, each of you shall return to his possession. 14 If you sell anything to your neighbor or buy from your neighbor's hand, you shall not oppress one another. 15 According to the number of years after the Jubilee you shall buy from your neighbor. And according to the number of years of crops he shall sell to you. 16 According to the multitude of years you shall increase its price. And according to the fewer number of years you shall diminish its price. For he sells to you according to the number of the years of the crops. 17 Therefore you shall not oppress one another, but you shall fear your God. For I am the LORD your God. NKJV

DID THE LORD WARN THEM ABOUT THIS? READ: HABAKKUK 2:9-12 9 Woe to him who covets evil gain for his house; That he may set his nest on high; That he may be delivered from the power of disaster! 10 You give shameful counsel to your house: Cutting off many peoples And Sin against your soul. 11 For The stone will cry out from the wall And The beam from the timbers will answer it. 12 Woe to him who builds a town with bloodshed, Who establishes a city by iniquity! NKJV

  33. WHO WERE THEY OPPRESSING? READ: NEHEMIAH 5:3-8 3 There were some who saidWe have mortgaged our lands and vineyards and houses that we might buy grain because of the famine. 4 There were also those who saidWe have borrowed money for the king's tax on our lands and vineyards. 5 Our flesh is as the flesh of our brethrenOur children as their children. Indeed We are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves and Some of our daughters have been brought into slavery. It is not in our power to redeem them For Other men have our lands and vineyards. 6 I became very angry when I heard their outcry and these words. 7 After serious thoughtI rebuked the nobles and rulers. And I said to them: Each of you is exacting usury from his brother. I called a great assembly against them. 8 I said to themAccording to our ability we have redeemed our Jewish brethren who were sold to the nations. Now indeed, Will you even sell your brethren? Or Should they be sold to us? NKJV

QUESTIONS: ISAIAH 5:7-10 9 In my hearing the LORD of hosts said, “Truly, many houses shall be desolate, Great and beautiful ones, without inhabitant. 10 For ten acres of vineyardshall yield one bath, And a homer of seedshall yield one ephah.” WHAT WAS THE LORD’S JUDGMENT UPON THEM? READ: LEVITICUS 26:26 26 When I cut off your supply of breadTen women shall bake your bread in one oven. They shall bring back your bread by weight. And You shall eat and not be satisfied. READ: ISAIAH 5:11-12 11 Woe to those who rise early in the morning, That they may follow intoxicating drink; Who continue until night, till wine inflames them! 12 The harp and the strings, The tambourine and flute, And wine are in their feasts; But they do not regard the work of the LORD, Nor consider the operation of His hands.
