The Shah Mosque of Esfahan is one of the everlasting masterpieces of architecture in Iran. It is registered, along with the Naghsh-i Jahan Square, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its construction began in 1611, and its splendor is mainly due to the beauty of its seven-colour mosaic tiles and calligraphic inscriptions.

  2. Built during the Safavid period, Shah Mosque is an excellent example of Islamic architecture of Iran, and regarded as one of the masterpieces of Persian Architecture. It is registered, along with the Naghsh-iJahan Square, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its construction began in 1611, and its splendor is mainly due to the beauty of its seven-colour mosaic tiles and calligraphic inscriptions. Remarcabilă este şispectaculoasalucraturăîn faianţă(şapteculori) care acoperăinteriorulşi celepatruywan (ziduriboltite cu o laturădeschisă). Moscheea regală a fost începutaîn 1611, iarlucrările au progresatfoarte rapid, la ordineleluiAbbas, care se temea poate căvamuriînainte ca ele să fie terminate. Este ceeace s-a întâmplat: clădirea a fost terminatăîn anul 1638, la 9 ani dupămoarteasa.
