  2. Famous for • Could you imagine leading your army into war ? Well Ulysses S. Grant did, and he and he did it with courage .Ulysses S. Grant led the north to victory . Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant . Plus Grant made the rank lieutenant general . Only George Washington and Winfield Scott made that rank .

  3. Interesting facts • The .S. In Ulysses S. Grant stands for Simpson . People thought that since Ulysses was a good general they thought he would be a good president . So he was elected president in 1868 . It turned out he was one of the worst presidents ever !

  4. Important dates • On April 27 , 1822 he was born . Plus on July 23 1885 he died at the age of 63 . If he were still alive he would be 190 years old . • Just imagine “ what would it be like to lead an army to war” .
