  1. WALT: Recognise words for clothes in French and be able to describe them and give opinions. WILF: An accurate description of clothes with correct “agreements” for level 3. To be able to say what colour suits me for level 4.

  2. Les vêtements Write each item of clothing in French and English. Use the pictures to help you work out the meaning.

Next, you need to add the colour to each item of clothing, but there are a few things to remember… REMEMBER: The colour must AGREE with the item of clothing Masculine/ Feminine Singular / plural REMEMBER: The colour comes AFTER the item of clothing We first learnt how to describe things with colours when we learnt about pets. There are some reminders on the next slides…

NO “E”

  6. Write out each item of clothing and add its colour. Don’t forget to make the colour “agree” with the item. Example: A. un polo blanc

  7. Complete the table below by writing the item of clothing and its colour. Check the item of clothing (un / une / des) Check the colour… Some colours do not change!

  8. Make a note of these phrases, they will help with the next exercises.

  9. Read the texts below and work out which t-shirt would suit each person according to their preference.

  10. Writing Write a paragraph in French giving details about your favourite colours. Use the blue box to help. Including an opinion = level 3 Including a justification (because) = level 4

  11. Extension Translate the texts into English.
